As Summer officially came to a close and we said hello to Fall this past weekend, we thought it would be a good time to look back on some of the highlights from the warmer months.
Even though school was out, our Program Facilitators were hard at work bringing some creative and outdoor fun to students in the Newcomer Services’ Refugee Youth Summer Camp. Having the chance to attend summer camp gives participants the chance to build important life skills such as self-esteem, resilience, and self-reliance. These skills will serve youth well as they start the new school year, and navigate sometimes difficult relationships, schoolwork, and team dynamics over the coming months.
We can’t wait to see where these kids go, and what else they can teach us along the way.
Read on for a deeper look into the summer programming, and to read youth testimonials.
